Posted by Luke H on September 23rd, 2008

In the previous post, we made full-mash homebrew beer. Two weeks later, our fermenters have stopped bubbling, and they are full of sweet, sweet beer. Unfortunately, the beer is flat and warm. What can we do to rectify this unfortunate situation? Ah yes, we can bottle the beer.

Full-Mash Brewing, Part One

Posted by Luke H on September 21st, 2008

About a year ago I put up a post explaining how to make homebrew beer, the kit way.  Making beer from kits is easy and fast, and you don’t need much equipment.  The beer, however, while easily equal to Tui, Heineken and the like, fails to measure up to the real beers like Duvel and [...]

He would not tell officers who they were, saying he didn’t want to get them into [...]

The NZ Herald has the slightly unusual case of a successful long-distance relationship: Convicted pack rapist Peter McNamara fathered a child while in Rimutaka Prison. He made arrangements with a prison doctor to provide a semen sample for his partner. McNamara’s partner, Joanne Percy, gave birth to a boy in Tauranga Hospital in January and [...]

Skoptic Syndrome

I sometimes make forays into strange places, psychologically. I find it fascinating to explore the limits of strange and different thoughts people can have while still being sane. I’m talking about REALLY strange places, like the world of eunuch/castration fetishism. I liken the experience to watching a car crash in slow motion: you know that [...]
