The 17 Tuhoe Terrorists ‘Alleged’ Terrorists (well, the seventeen that the police have evidence against) have been committed to trial. They are, as usual, making outlandish claims of their complete innocence.
Bailey, as the only individual who had all charges against him thrown out, says his sister and brother are still going to trial.
“It’s really kind of depressing for me to know that my friends and family are still in there on trumped-up charges & everyone will see me in this light or in this shadow of this case,” he says.
Bailey says all the 17 accused were victims of the over-active imaginations of police.
I can assure readers of Pacific Empire that the police were not ‘imagining’ the terrorist training camps and plots to kill New Zealanders, including a threat to kill John Key after the upcoming election. For a full run-down of the evidence facing the domestic terrorists accused, see Phil’s excellent post, Violence Is A Virtue.
Also, one could do a simple search on Wikileaks for “New Zealand Police Urewera terrorism affidavit” for frighteningly clear evidence that there really was a clear and present danger to New Zealand security.
A quote from Valerie Morse speaks volumes:
Morse, one of the accused, called the police operation racist.
“I think this is a racist police operation that has targeted primarily at the people of Tuhoe,” Morse says.
That’s some fascinating leftist double-speak. I am told that three of the 18 arrested people were Maori. These radicals wanted to create an independent Tuhoe nation (I wonder what race relations would be like inside such a mini-state), and talked about murdering white people to get recruits used to killing.
Today I raise a glass to the police, who did a fantastic job surveiling and catching these racist criminals ‘alleged’ criminals.
The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
