It seems like my previous post on the graffiti and rubbish at Linden Station was read by someone important - the graffiti has been painted over on the walls and seats.

Obviously the perspex still needs replacing.

Now we just need some rubbish bins, and we’ll really be talking!
It looks like these are the contractors responsible for keeping the place shipshape.

Contracting this task to an external group is a good incentive, actually. The faster they clean up the station, the more work they’ll do and the more money they will make. Meanwhile, the more your people can do to prevent graffiti, the less it will cost in contractor payments to clean up.
Thanks free market! :-p
Here is a shot of Wellington harbour from the train on the way out to Linden.

We see the harbour view for about two minutes before entering a four kilometre tunnel.
And here is the alternative to public transport: private motor vehicles.

This is a 1 second exposure of the Wellington motorway from an overbridge I took on the way home from work a few days ago.

Luke, your mission now, if you choose to accept it, is to visit every single railway station in Greater Wellington, photograph the graffiti and state of it if it is bad, and put it on your blog to shame the contractor/WRC/ owner (it varies) into fixing it up.
You’ll be doing more for public transport in Wellington than the Greens ever did because making stations bearable WILL make it more attractive.
