As for online sources, the usual caveats apply. I have noticed that Wikipedia's NZ history articles have a certain amount of bias, being written by just one or two people. The <a href="http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/" rel="nofollow">NZ History</a> website and the government-funded <a href="http://www.teara.govt.nz/" rel="nofollow">Te Ara</a> online encyclopedia project have some useful information and could serve as a starting point. - We won’t prosecute parents who give kids a smack, but we’re sending a strong message to parents who beat their kids senseless by banning light smacking.

Left-wing terrorism is considered to include anti-establishment or revolutionary acts, while "right-wing" terrorism is aimed at preserving the status quo. I suppose the prime example would be the KKK. Anti-immigrant violence certainly fits into that category. The other main categories are ethno-nationalist/separatist, and religious. Some would add single-issue or entrepeneurial as categories, and some would also include state terrorism. Defining terrorism in categories like that is problematic, but still useful.
