One of the subjects I am doing as part of my Masters is Security & Media.

One of our major assignments is whether the media should report more ethically.

I think they should.

Plenty of cases out there where the media actually has inflamed situations for the sake of ratings and publication sales.

Interestingly I noticed that the print version had the same story, almost identical except that the phrase “claimed another victim” had been removed. Maybe my blog post made a difference.

A ute, btw, is a pickup truck. So it was really a motor vehicle accident, rather than a hunting or sporting accident.

LOL. How much more sensational can it get. Not at all a “ute” accident but a hunting victim. You kiwi really need more gun control over there…
