Haha, I'll see myself referenced as "artistic dinosaur/philistine"?

As I've said, I like art to do something for my eye and heart, so I don't enjoy these works which, to me, are primarily thought exercises.

But at least these thought exercises required some skill/craftsmanship to create and weren't just a "new" idea :-)

As for your comment PC, like I said, these were the highlights for me personally and if you don’t like them I’m not worried. I’d certainly like to know what contemporary NZ artists you do like though….

It wasn't all you Craig! But our discussion the other week did help. I'm actually in the middle of writing a review of Gina Matchitt's work for my ARTH311 paper...that’s where half the inspiration came from. Thanks for reading

There are certainly some excellent contemporary NZ artists and some superb NZ art, but the tat you've shown here is not amongst that group, I'm afraid.

Now I know who inspired THIS post! :-D

Actually Leanne, the examples you picked seem relatively interesting and look like they took some effort & skill to create.

So regardless of whether they are my "thing" they seem authentic enough to me (i.e. I don't think it's a big LOB!)

I still refuse to give shitting on a matress the time of day, or any respect, but certainly we have some common ground here.
