September was the first full month of Pacific Empire. We’ve had 23 posts, 47 comments, 668 returning visitors and 510 new visitors – a respectable average of 39 visitors per day. Top referrers were Not PC, Kiwiblog and John Robb.

Some posts triggered great discussions, especially “Should Auckland declare independence?”, which was linked to by John Robb and Coming Anarchy, and also resulted in our top Google keyword being “south island independence.”

After one month then, I would like to get some input from our loyal readers. How can we make this blog more interesting and relevant? Are there any categories or topics we have neglected? What issues should we be weighing in on? What do you think of the frequency, format or length of the posts?

And for all of the experienced and successful bloggers reading this, what advice do you have on ways we can improve the blog? What techniques and tips can you offer?

Cheers :-)

Suggestions aside from the obvious ‘post more’, of course :-)

You dont have to necessarily post more. Just keep the quality high. 1 post a day is fine. A lot of ppl aren’t up on what’s going on in Oceania, especially us at CA. Keep us informed about geopolitics down under, how NZ and Australia are shrinkning the gap, all the failed states/islands in the area, terrorism, immigration etc.

Do that and you’ll be sure to get more links from CA. I’m an rss subscriber to Pacific Empire btw! Keep up the good work and stay focused!

Request? I’m hanging out for the big piece on “fourth-generation war” that you’ve been promising.

I bet it would make a great TFR article when finished. :-)

Suggestions? Keep doing what you’re doing. You have a good niche here.

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

Chirol, you will probably be interested in my next Resource Wars post – a case study on the war in Papua New Guinea.

PC, I will write an intro piece on 4GW in the near future. I’m not an expert by any means, but I have started doing some extra research…
